Safari Sunset (+tutorial)

Heey!
I found new source of inspiration - phone cases. So I browsed Etsy and when I saw this one I knew. I recreated the pattern, excited. It turned out later that the pattern (called Safari Sunset) is originally by a luggage design company Vera Bradley. So now I can show you nails that match not only a phone case but a lot of other accessories, mainly bags.

Why the gel pen you ask? Oh, yes! I used this gel pen for the white details, it's super easy to work with, especially if you want to do swirls.

Aaand here comes the inspiration. I edited the phone case in the photo, I admit. I couldn't help it really, I wanted to have a picture with my nails + the inspiration, although I don't own it (I don't even own an iPhone to use it with, you see.)
Tutorial after the jump!

The tuto speaks for itself, indeed.

What I used:
Rimmel 312 Ultra Violet (light violet)
The New Black polish (dark purple, below)
acrylic paint
white gel pen
NYC Turbo Dry top coat

I even cut down a new brush for this.

I truly enjoyed making these, as much as I enjoyed wearing them. I like painting with gel pen, it's sort of refreshing, different.
Have you ever tried nail art with gel pen? How did it go?

  3. Thank you very much! It's too simple for a tutorial, imho :D I just sit at my desk with my camera on it and mirror behind it so I can see the photos I'm taking, understandable? :)

Yes I understand, is the camera on timer then for the photos where both hands are in shot? They sure are lovely photos!

  5. well, sometimes, but usually I just push the button and move my hands to the position very quickly.. because when I use macro shooting, my camera takes a bit of time to focus and take the picture, so I have enough time to pose :)
