Retro Triangles (+tutorial)

Happy new year!
I hope you all enjoyed the holidays and celebrations. I wore this mani after Christmas - after I took off Christmas Splashes, during new year's eve and I won't be taking it off until Saturday. I knew for how long I was going to keep it so I wanted something lovely. And glowing.

This mani by Manicurator made me remember I really like triangles on nails (see triangles tag) and I got two lovely polishes (below) for Christmas that make great colour combo. So I decided to use those two polishes and fill my nails with triangles. I didn't have final picture in my mind when I started.

Tutorial and more photos after the jump.

This is pretty much the process I used, you can of course change the order.
I used polish in step 2 (with polish bottle brush), in steps 3 and 4 I used acrylics (with long and medium nail art brush), I also fixed (outlined) the triangles from step 2 with acrylics, you can see when you look close. I originally thought I could do the whole design just with polish but it's just not as easy to work with as acrylics.
And it glooooows!

What I used:
Gabriella Salvete 148 (white base)
Maybelline colorama 77 (pink)
Maybelline colorama 165 (brown)
acrylic paint
Essence Glow in the Night 18 fly firefly fly
NYC Turbo Dry top coat

I also found this hand cream under the christmas tree, I'm loving it.

It's Avon Paraffin Hand Cream, it smells so good and makes my cuticles happy. And how cute is the package?

Both hands turned out well and I even made to take my photos in the daylight.

Again, I wish you HAPPY NEW YEAR and happy polishing!

  3. sure, for the nails I use common MS PowerPoint :D it has vector graphics which I prefer and I finish the whole tutorial picture (add text and frame) in Photofiltre
